Today

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own"

"Live today as it were your last"

I grew up hearing these words.. singing songs like "live like you were dying" and even seeing those around me, my parents especially live today as it were there last. My mom faced cancer, both my parents were in a serious motorcycle wreck, my uncle died of cancer, my grandpa died from a stroke, my grandma has MS, and I have several great aunts that have alzheimer disease... and that just the start...

Now,  I don't give you that list so now you can say "ooo i'm so sorry" and I don't even say those things to gain credibility, because I've met a handful of those who doctors gave a "time frame" too and they died bitter people... so me giving you a list of those i live around is quite irrelevant but the point i'm making is that i've seen alot.. and faced a few things in my short time...

and I don't think it hit me till just this past month when I was sitting on the couch with my husband, watching ESPN what it truly meant to live for today.... I can't recal the coach or even the team but ... there was a coach in front of a handful of student at a university, and a  big game was coming up  - the reporter asked "Coach, what about next weeks game, how do you plan on tackling that one" Coach replied " I can't worry about next's weeks game, all I need to worry about is today's, everything could change by then" Now he was talking football- i'm talking life... and coach had a great point..

Everything could change.....

sooo ... that leaves us where?

Not planning for next weeks game.. Well no...

It leaves us taking care of today's game, whole heatildy....

because

If we don't take care of the game today - next's weeks game won't matter....

Our today, affects our Tomorrow - and while yes, we must plan for tomorrow, we MUST take care of today....

My Husband with His dad (pictured right) and Papaw (middle) on
Papaw's 90th Bday! Talk about a few "today's." cool thing is - He said plan to
be here in 10 years, i'll be turning 100. ... I love the family I married into.
i'm a blessed Lady!
My Life:

My husband's taught me about living today... You see, our job is always changing - we never really know if we're going to be home, or on the road. So, as you probably might guess that makes planing for things a little bit difficult, such as meals and even our routine - and TRUST me i'm a routine kinda gal... but the funny things is - all people like order to some extent... anyway, life on the road - as a newly wed, i am still trying to figure this all out.... but my man.. said it so simple one day while we were talking he said "plan for the meals you want to make, and if we can take it with us great, and if not - it's not the end of the world if it goes bad" AH HA... Why isn't everything that simple in my head?... but that's just like me.... If I can't see all the details, then the whole thing isnt right. If i didn't know where we would be that week then who cares about cooking - NO.... i do... and I want to cook and I want our home to be a place to be... SO I started planning ... and sure enough - it works pretty well.. If we could take it with us -Great, if not, O WELL...

just like life - Plan ahead, plan for years to come, if it works out, GREAT. your planning paid off, IF NOT.... That's okay, EMBRACE life on the road and keep going..

Really, All we have to worry about is today! Focus on today.. because our "today's"truly make up life...

Love you each,

Redefine your day - LIVE IT!
